Surah “Those Who Drag Forth, Soul-snatchers, Those Who Pulled Out”

as rendered by The Wise Quran Project — 46 verses

By those who draw out violently.
By those who draw out, drawing out.
By those who glide, gliding.
By the preceders, preceding.
By those who manage an affair.
On the day the quake quakes,
The subsequent will follow it.
Hearts on that day will throb;
Their eyes humbled.
They say, 'Will we indeed be surely sent back to the former state?
When we are decayed bones?'
They said, 'That then is a losing return.'
So it is only one cry,
Then behold, they are those who are awake.
Has the story of Moses come to you?
When his Lord called him in the holy valley, Tuwa.
'Go to Pharaoh, indeed, he is immoderate;
Then say, "Will you purify yourself?
And I will guide you to your Lord, so you will fear."'
Then he showed him the great sign.
Then he denied and he rebelled.
Then he turned his back, striving,
Then he gathered, then he proclaimed,
Then he said, 'I am your lord the most high.'
So God seized him, an exemplary punishment of the hereafter and the former.
Indeed in that is surely a lesson for him who fears.
Are you a harder creation or the sky? He built it.
He raised its ceiling, then He made it uniform,
And He darkened its night, and brought forth its forenoon.
And the earth after that He spread it,
He brought forth from it its water and its pasturage.
And the mountains, He made them firm.
A provision for you and for your cattle.
Then when the great predominant calamity comes,
On the day man will remember what he strove after,
And the hellfire is made manifest to him who sees.
Then as for him who was immoderate,
And preferred the worldly life,
Then indeed, the hellfire, it is the refuge.
And as for him who feared the station of His Lord, and prohibited the soul from lust,
Then indeed, the garden, it is the refuge.
They ask you about the Hour, when is its anchoring?
In what are you of its mention?
To your Lord is its goal.
You are only a warner to him who fears it.
On the day they see it, as though they had not tarried except an evening or its forenoon.
