Of what do they ask one another?
Of the great information,
The one concerning which they disagree.
Not so, soon they will know.
Again not so, soon they will know.
Did We not make the earth a bed,
And the mountains stakes,
And We created you in pairs,
And We made your sleep a rest,
And We made the night a garment,
And We made the day for livelihood,
And We built above you seven strong,
And We made a burning lamp,
And We sent down from the clouds water pouring forth,
That We may bring forth with it grain and plants,
And luxuriant gardens?
Indeed, the Day of Decision is an appointed time.
On the day the horn will be blown in, and you come in troops,
And the sky is opened, then becomes gates,
And the mountains are set in motion, so become a mirage.
Indeed, hell is an ambush,
A place of return for the immoderate,
To tarry in it for a long time.
They will not taste in it coolness nor drink,
Except hot water and pus;
A fit recompense.
Indeed, they were not hoping for a reckoning,
And they called Our signs lies, denying.
And everything We have numbered it, a book.
So taste, and We will not increase you except in punishment.
Indeed, for those who fear is a place of security,
Gardens and grapevines,
And girls with swelling breasts, equal in age,
And a brimming cup of wine;
They will not hear in it foolish talk nor denying;
A recompense from your Lord, a reckoning gift.
Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between both of them, the Merciful, they do not control speech of Him.
On the day the spirit and the angels will stand in a row, they will not speak except he who the Merciful permits, and he will say what is right.
That is the True Day, so he who willed took to his Lord a place of return.
Indeed We, We warned you of a near punishment on the day the man will look at what his two hands sent forward, and the disbeliever will say, 'O I wish I were dust.'
