By those who snatch forcibly,
and those who draw out gently,
and those who glide effortlessly,
and those who outrun easily,
and those who manage the affairs:
on the Day the quake quakes,
and is followed by the second blow;
hearts on that Day will tremble,
and their eyesight will be subdued.
They will say, "Are we to be returned to our former state
when we have become decayed bones?"
They said, "That would then be a losing return!"
It is but a single nudge,
whereupon they will be upon the earth's surface.
Has the story of Moses reached you,
when his Lord called out to him at the holy valley Tuwa?
"Go to Pharaoh, for he has transgressed
and say, 'Are you willing to purify yourself
and let me guide you to your Lord so that you may fear Him?' "
Then he showed him the great miracle,
but he denied and disobeyed.
Then he hastily turned away.
Then he gathered and called out,
and said, "I am your lord, the most high."
So God seized him with an exemplary punishment in the Hereafter and the first life.
Indeed, in that is a lesson for those who fear.
Are you a mightier creation or the heaven that He built?
He raised its height and fashioned it,
and He darkened its night and brought out its brightness.
Then the earth, after that, He made it egg-shaped.
He brought forth from it its water and pasture,
and He affixed the mountains;
an enjoyment for you and for your livestock.
Then, when the great calamity arrives,
it will be the Day when the human being will remember all his striving.
Hellfire will be brought forward for those who can see.
So for the one who transgressed
and preferred the worldly life,
Hellfire will be the refuge.
And as for the one who feared the position of his Lord, and restrained the self from base desires,
Paradise will be the refuge.
They ask you about the Hour: "When is its arrival?"
What has its mention got to do with you?
With your Lord rests its finality.
You are only a warner for those who fear it.
The Day they see it, it will be as if they lasted only one evening or morning thereof.
