The ones who disbelieved, from among the people of the timeless book [of Scripture] and the polytheists, were not to detach from their entrenched ways until the telling evidence came to them:
A messenger from Allah reciting immaculate scriptures,
wherein are clear-standing timeless words.
And the ones who were given the Scripture did not become divided, except after telling evidence had come to them.
And they were not commanded except that they worship Allah, ever sincere to HIM in religion, in quest of the Truth. And that they stay anchored in Prayer and give Zakat. And that is the religion of uprightness.
Indeed, the ones who have disbelieved, from among the people of the timeless Book [of Scripture], and the polytheists, will be in Jahannam, abiders therein. Those are the worst of all creation.
Indeed, the ones who have believed and have done the right deeds— they are the best of all creation.
Their reward is with their Rabb— Gardens of Eden, subservient to which rivers flow, abiders therein beyond time. Allah has accepted from them [their devotion], and they have accepted from HIM [HIS reward]. That is for whoever had lived in reverence of his Rabb.
