When the sun is wrapped,
And when the stars fall,
And when the mountains are set in motion,
And when the she-camels ten months gone with young are neglected,
And when the wild animals are gathered,
And when the seas are filled,
And when the souls are paired,
And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked
For what sin she was killed,
And when the books are spread out,
And when the sky is stripped off,
And when hellfire is lit,
And when the garden is brought near,
A soul will know what it brought.
So I swear by the retreaters,
The runners, the hiders.
By the night when it comes on.
By the morning when it breathes.
Indeed, it is surely speech of a noble messenger,
A possessor of strength, established with the Lord of the throne,
Obeyed there, trustworthy.
And your companion is not mad.
And surely, certainly he saw him in the clear region.
And he is not, on the unseen, niggardly.
And it is not speech of a stoned devil.
So where are you going?
It is not except a reminder to the worlds,
To whoever willed among you to go straight.
And you will not will, except that God, the Lord of the worlds, wills.
