He frowned and turned away
when the blind man approached him.
For all you know, he might be seeking to purify himself?
or to be reminded and be helped by being reminded?
As for him who was indifferent,
you [Prophet] gave him your attention.
Though it is not up to you whether or not he will believe.
As for him who came to you eagerly
with God’s fear in his heart
from him you are distracted.
Indeed this is a reminder;
So, whoever wills may remember it.
it is [written] on honored sheets,
Exalted and purified,
by the hands of scribes,
honorable and virtuous.
How regretful it is for people to have so much self-destructive ingratitude.
From what did He create him?
From a fertilized ovum He created him and proportioned him;
Then He eased the way for him;
Then He causes him to die and to be buried.
Then when He wills, He will resurrect him.
No! He did not fulfill what He has commanded him.
A human being has only to consider the food he eats.
We poured down water in abundance,
and caused the soil to break open,
and grew grains in it,
and grapes and legumes
olive and dates,
and luxurious gardens
and fruits and vegetable,
for you and your livestock to enjoy.
But when the Deafening Blast comes,
on the Day when a human being will flee from his brother,
his mother, his father,
his wife and his children,
every one of them, on that Day, will have enough to preoccupy him.
Faces on that Day will be beaming,
laughing and rejoicing.
And [other] faces, on that Day, will be covered with dust,
overwhelmed by Sorrow.
These are the unbelievers, the wicked ones.
