By those sent forth in succession,
and those gusting and blowing violently,
and the spreaders that spread,
and the separators that separate,
and those who deliver a Reminder
for the excuse or the warning:
what you are promised will surely happen.
So when the stars are extinguished,
and when the heaven is split open,
and when the mountains are blown up,
and when the messengers are gathered to their appointed time;
for what day has it been deferred?
For the Day of Decision.
And how would you know what the Day of Decision is?
Woe on that Day to the deniers.
Did We not annihilate the previous ones,
then succeeded them with the later ones?
That is what We do with the criminals.
Woe on that Day to the deniers.
Did We not create you from a despised fluid,
then We placed it in a secure resting place
for a known term?
And We determined precisely. How excellent Determiners We are!
Woe on that Day to the deniers.
Did We not make the earth a receptacle
for the living and the dead,
and We placed towering stabilisers in it and provided you with fresh water to drink?
Woe on that Day to the deniers.
Proceed to that which you used to deny.
Proceed to a shade with three columns,
providing no shade, nor does it avail against the flames.
It shoots up sparks the size of castles,
as if they were yellow camels.
Woe on that Day to the deniers.
This is a Day when they will not speak,
nor will they be permitted to offer excuses.
Woe on that Day to the deniers.
This is the Day of Decision. We have gathered you and the previous ones,
so if you have any schemes, go ahead and scheme.
Woe on that Day to the deniers.
Indeed, the reverent will be amid shades and springs,
and such fruits that they desire.
Eat and drink joyfully in return for what you used to do.
Indeed, We thus reward the good-doers.
Woe on that Day to the deniers.
Eat and enjoy yourselves briefly. Indeed, you are criminals.
Woe on that Day to the deniers.
And when they are told to bow, they do not bow.
Woe on that Day to the deniers.
