Has there not come upon man a period from the span of time when he was not even a mentionable thing?
WE did create man from a drop, embedded with traits, to test him. To that purpose, WE have made him with hearing and sight.
Indeed, WE have shown him the Path— whether he be grateful or ungrateful.
Hearken! WE have prepared fetters and yokes and a blaze for the ungrateful.
Indeed, the virtuous will drink from a cup— its blend of Kafur—
A spring by which drink Allah’s devotees. They spur it to gush with profusion.
They are true to their vows, and they fear a day whose horror is sweeping.
And they feed the needy, and the orphan, and the prisoner, their food— for the love of HIM.
[Reminding themselves]: “We feed you only for the Face of Allah. We do not seek any return from you nor any gratitude.
We do fear from our Rabb, a grim record-baring day.”
So, Allah spared them the horror of that Day and introduced them to radiance and joy.
And HE recompensed them because they persevered— a garden and silk:
Reclining on couches, they experience therein neither a scorching sun nor an icy wind.
And drooping over them, the garden’s shades and its clusters of fruit hung low, for its taking.
And passed around between them are jugs of silver. And the goblets— they were crystals.
Crystals of silver. They have assigned them a capacity, precisely matched.
And they will be given to drink therein a cup— its blend of Zanjabīl—
and a flowing spring therein, named Salsabīl.
And making rounds [waiting] upon them, eternalized youths. When you see them, you would deem them scattered pearls
And when [and where] you look, ever-then and ever-there you will see bliss and a transcendent kingdom.
Their donning— garments of green fine silk and ornate brocade. And adorned by bracelets of silver, and their Rabb slaked them with an immaculate drink:
“This here is a reward for you all, and ever was your effort appreciated.”
It is US— WE sent down upon you the Quran, in gradual revelations.
So, wait patiently for your Rabb’s decision and do not obey any sinner or disbeliever from among them
And remember the name of your Rabb, [each] day’s start, and the day’s end,
and during part of the night— prostrate unto HIM. And contemplate HIS limitless glory at night, amply.
Surely, these people, they love the immediate and temporal and put behind them [any thought of] a momentous day.
WE created them and strengthened their bodily frames, and when WE will, WE change their forms in a transformative change.
Hearken! This is a reminder— so whoever wills may take a pathway unto HIS Rabb.
And you do not will except that Allah wills. Indeed, Allah is ever knowing, all-wise.
HE admits whoever HE wills into HIS mercy. And [as for] the wrongdoers— for them HE has proportioned an agonizing punishment.
