Surah “Those Who Set The Ranks, Drawn up in Ranks, The Rangers”

as rendered by Zulfiquar Ali Bhotto — 182 verses

By the aligners of rows [praised interpreters, aligning for self referencing in Qur'an],
Then thereby uprooting [wrong interpretations] with proof reading.
By the reciters of a Reminder [Qur'an, Qur'an 38:1],
Indeed, your God is only One,
Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them and Lord of the Easts [literal, metaphorical, structural, political meanings].
Indeed, We adorned the land's sky [deep layer alignment of verses] with an adornment of planets [outer layer arrangement of verses];
And [thereby] safeguarding [Qur'an] from every rebellious devil.
They can not listen to the assembler [of rows], the praised [interpreters, Qur'an 37:1] and are struck from all layers,
Expelled; and for them is an endless torment,
Except one [rebellious devil, not expelled, M***a G****m A***d] who stealthily snatches away [one or two meanings], the snatcher, so a burning flame shall follow him, stabbing endlessly.
So ask them [O Muhammad], "Are they a stronger creation or those [Qur'an 40:57] We have created?" Indeed, We created them from sticky clay.
No but is there. You wonder while they ridicule?
And when they are reminded, they do not remember.
And when they see a sign, they ridicule
And they say, "Left is nothing, this to be except an obvious magic.
When we have died and become dust and bones, are we really to be resurrected?
And our forefathers [as well]?"
Say, "Yes, and you will be humiliated."
It will be only one yelling, so before it ends, they are seeing.
They said, "O woe to us! This is the Day of Repayment."
[They will be told], "This is the Day of Decision which you were about it belying."
[The angels will be ordered], "Gather those who oppressed and their kinds, and what they were worshiping [Qur'an 2:24]
Other than Allah, and lead them to the path of Hellfire
But stop them; indeed, they are to be questioned."
[They will be asked], "What belongs to you as you are not helping each other [to escape]?"
No but is there. They, today, are in total surrender.
And some of them turn to some others, blaming each other.
They said, "Indeed, you were coming to us from the right."
The oppressors said, "No but is there! You [yourselves] were not believers,
And there was for us over you no authority. No but is there. You were a people transgressing all limits.
So, the saying of our Lord has come true against us;. Indeed, we will taste [torment].
So we lured you. Indeed, we were seducers."
So indeed they, that Day, will be shared in the torment.
Indeed, thus We will do with the criminals.
Indeed they, when it was said to them, "There is no deity except Allah," were arrogant
And were saying, "Should we indeed, surely for a mad poet leave our gods?"
No but is there [you should]. The Prophet has come with the truth and confirmed the messengers [Qur'an 3:81, e.g., Abraham Qur'an 19:41, Ishmael Qur'an 19:54, Jesus Qur'an 19:30, Mary Qur'an 19:16, Solomon Qur'an 4:163].
Indeed, you [infidels] will be tasters [fuels] of the torment, the painful,
And you will not be penalized except what you were working on.
Excepted are the sincere slaves of Allah,
Those for them will be a known livelihood
Of all fruits; and they will be honored
In the Bliss Paradises
On thrones facing each other.
About cups [of wine] from a flowing spring will be passed on them,
White and delicious to the drinkers;
No bad effect is there in it, nor from it will they be poured out [of senses].
And with them will be gaze women, with beautiful large eyes,
As if they were [as pleasing to eye as ostrich] eggs, well-protected.
And some of them will approach others, inquiring of each other.
A speaker from them said, "Indeed, I had for me a companion [on earth]
Who says, `Are you indeed of those who believe
That when we have died and become dust and bones, are we really be recompensed?'"
He [further] said, "Will you [all] just have a look?"
And [the speaker] will look and see him in the midst of the Hellfire.
He said, "By Allah, you almost ruined me.
If not for the favour of my Lord, I would have been of those brought in [to Hell].
Then [the speaker says to his blissed companions], are we not to die
Except for our first death, and we will not be punished?"
Indeed, this is the great win.
For the like of this [greeting, Qur'an 37:60] then the workers [on earth] should work.
Is that [Qur'an 37:60] a better greeting or the zaqqum tree?
Indeed, We set it as [greeting] test for oppressing folk [to greet by].
Indeed, it is a tree that grows from the bottom of the Hell,
Its fruits are like the heads of devils.
So indeed, they will eat from it and fill from it their bellies.
Then indeed, for them over the zaqqum tree is a mixture of scalding water.
Then [with such greeting], their return will surely be to the Hellfire.
Indeed they discovered their forefathers astray [with some worldly success].
So they upon their footsteps hastened.
And they had already strayed before them most of the former peoples,
While We had already sent in them warners.
Then observe how was the end of those who were warned -
Except the sincere slaves of Allah.
And Noah already called to Us, and [We are] the best of responders.
And We saved him and his family from the great calamity.
And We made his descendants, they, the survivors
And We left upon him [favorable mention] in the later generations:
"Peace be upon Noah in the worlds."
Indeed, We thus recompense the good doers.
Indeed, he was of Our believing slaves.
Then We drowned the others.
And indeed, of his kind was Abraham,
When he came to his Lord in a sound heart
[And] when he said to his father and his people, "What are you worshiping?
Is it faked gods rather than Allah you desire?
So what is your thought about the Lord of the worlds?"
And he glanced a glance at the stars
And said, "Indeed, I am sick [of you arguing]."
So they turned away from him, departing.
Then he turned to their gods and said, "Will you not eat [your offerings]?
What is [wrong] in you that you do not speak?"
And he turned upon them, striking by [his] right hand.
Then the people came toward him, hastening.
He said, "Do you worship what you [yourselves] carve,
While Allah created you and what you work?"
They said, "Build for him a structure and throw him into the blazing fire."
And they desired about him a plot, but We made them the lowest.
And [then] he said, "Indeed, I am going away [to worship] my Lord; He will guide me.
My Lord, grant me [a child] of the righteous."
So We gave him good tidings about a forbearing boy.
And when he reached with him [the age of] exertion, he said, "O my son, indeed I saw in the dream that I am sacrificing you, so look what you see." He said, "O my father, fulfill, what you are commanded. You will find me, if Allah wills, of the steadfast."
And when they both had both submitted and he put him down to his forehead,
We called to him that, "O Abraham!,
You have already made the vision true." Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good.
Indeed, this was the obvious homework [conviction on your prophet hood as dream is not a command].
And We ransomed his son with a great sacrifice,
And We left upon him [favorable mention] in the later generations:
"Peace be upon Abraham."
Thus We reward the good doers.
Indeed, he was of Our believing slaves.
And We gave him good tidings about Isaac, a prophet from the righteous [as a reward for fulfilling his dream].
And We blessed upon him and upon Isaac. And their descendants is of good doers and blatant oppressor to himself.
And We certainly conferred favours upon Moses and Aaron.
And We saved both of them and their people from the great affliction,
And We supported them so they became the victors.
And We gave them the enlightening Book,
And We guided them on the straight path.
And We left upon them [favorable mention] in the later generations:
"Peace be upon Moses and Aaron."
Indeed, We thus reward the good doers.
Indeed, they were of Our believing slaves.
And indeed, Elias was from the messengers,
When he said to his people, "Will you not fear [ Allah ]?
Will you call on Ba'l and leave the best of creators -
Allah, your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers?"
And they belied him, so indeed, they will be brought in [punishment],
Except the sincere slaves of Allah.
And We left upon him [favorable mention] in later generations:
Peace be upon Elias."
Indeed, We thus reward the good doers.
Indeed, he was of Our believing slaves.
And indeed, Lot was from the messengers.
[So mention] when We saved him and his family, altogether,
Except an elderly woman [Lot's wife, who was] in those who remained behind [with the evildoers].
Then We destroyed the others.
And indeed, you [Meccans] pass by them in the morning
And at night. Then will you not reason?
And indeed, Jonah was from the messengers.
[Mention] when he fled [from drowning danger] to the laden ship.
Then [to save it from sinking] he drew lots [with others on board] and was of the losers, [so they cast him in the ocean].
So the fishing [for light] swallowed him [in darkness] and he became blameworthy.
So had he not been of those who glorify [Allah in repentance],
He would have remained in its belly [ocean interior] until the Day they are resurrected.
So We cast him in the open shore [waterspouts] while he was ill.
And We caused to grow over him a gourd vine [a herbal medicine].
And We sent him to [his people of] a hundred thousand or more.
And they believed, so We gave them enjoyment [of life] till a time.
So inquire of them whether your Lord [O Muhammad] have daughters while they have sons?
Or whether We created the angels as females while they were witnessing.
Verily, it is out of their utter falsehood that they say,
" Allah has begotten," and indeed, they are liars.
Has He chosen the daughters over the sons?
What is wrong with you? How do you decide?
Then will you not be reminded?
Or for you there is an obvious authority?
Then bring with your Book, if you are truthful.
And [in fact] they have set up between Him and between the jinn a lineage relation while certainly the jinn already knew that they will be brought to [torment].
Exalted is Allah above what they describe,
Except the sincere slaves of Allah.
So indeed, you [pagans] and whatever [idols] you worship,
You can incite against Him no one
Except whoever is to roast in the Hellfire.
[The angels say], "There is not from us except for him is a known position.
And indeed, we are those who line up [before Allah in worship].
And indeed, we are those who glorify [ Allah ]."
And indeed, they were saying,
"If we had a reminder from the forefather,
We would have been the sincere slaves of Allah."
But [now] they disbelieved in it [Qur'an], so soon they will know.
And Our word has already preceded for Our slaves, the messengers,
[That] indeed, they will be the victorious
And [that] indeed, Our armies - surely they will be the victorious.
So, [O Muhammad], turn away from them till a time.
And watch them, for they are going to see.
So are they, about Our torment, hastening?
But when it descends in their territory, so evil is the morning of those who were warned.
And turn away from them till a time.
And watch, for they are going to see.
Glory be to your Lord, the Lord of might, far above what they describe.
And peace be upon the messengers.
And All praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds.
