Surah “The Overwhelming, The Overwhelming Calamity, The Pall”

as rendered by Shuaib Abdullahi — 26 verses

Has (Hal') the discourse (Hadiithu) of the calamity (El'Ghaashiya')* reached you (s) (Ataa-ka)?
On that day (Yaw'maizin), some faces (Wujuu'un) will be humbled (Khaashiä’),
actively (Äämilatun) exhausted (Naasiba').
They will burn (Tas'laa) in a heated (Haamiya') fire (Naaran).
They will be given to drink (Tus'qaa) from (Min') a boiling (Aaniya') spring water (Äi'nin).
They will have (Lahum) no (Lai'sa) food (Toäämun) except (illa) from (Min) pus (Dorii’),
neither (Laa) fattens (Yus'minu) nor (Walaa) satisfies (Yug'nii) any (Min) hunger (Juue).
On that day (Yaw'maizin), other faces (Wujuu'un) will be comfortable (Naa'ema’),
satisfied (Raadiya’) with (Li) their effort (53:40) (Sa'yi-haa)
in (Fii) an elevated (Ääliya') garden (Jannatin),
wherein (Fiiha) they will hear (Tus'mau) no (Laa) nonsense (Laagiya').
Therein (Fiiha) is a flowing (Jaariya’) spring water (Äi'nun).
Therein (Fiiha) are elevated (Mar'fuuä') couches (Sururun)
and (Wa) positioned (Maw'duuä') drinking glasses (Ak'waabun)
and (Wa) arranged (Mas'fuufa') cushions (Namaariqu)
and (Wa) spread out (Mab'thuutha') carpets (Zaraabiyyu).
Do they then not (Afalaa) look (Yanzuruuna) at (ilaa) the camels (El' Ibili); how (Kai'fa) they have been created (shaped) (Khuliqat’)?
And (Wa) at (ilaa) the sky (Es'Samaai); how (Kai'fa) it has been raised (Rufiät')?
And (Wa) at (ilaa) the mountains (El'Jibaali); how (Kai'fa) they have been set up (Nusibat')?
And (Wa) at (ilaa) the earth (El'Ar'di); how (Kai'fa) it has been spread out (Sutihat’)?
So (Fa) remind (Zakkir’); you (s) (Anta) are only (Innamaa) a reminder (Muzakkir).
You (s) are not (Las'ta Bi) in control (Musoi'tir) over them (Älai'him). (6:107)
However (illa), whoever (Man) turns away (Tawallaa) and (Wa) disbelieves (Kafar),
then (Fa) GOD (Ellahu) will punish him with (Yuäzzibu-hu) the greatest (El'Ak'bar) punishment (El'Äzaaba).
Indeed (Inna), to Us (ilai'naa) is their return (Iyaaba-hum’).
Then (Thumma) indeed (Inna), upon Us (Älai'naa) is their reckoning (13:40) (Hisaaba-hum).
