Woe (Wai'lun) to the misers (Lil' Mutoffifiin)*,
who (Ellaziina), when (Izaa) they agglomerate (Ek'taalu') from (Älaa) people (En'Naasi), they take full share (Yas'taw'fuun),
but (Wa) when (Izaa) they measure for them (p) (Kaaluu-hum’) or (Aw) weigh for them (Wazanuu-hum’), they cause loss (Yukh'siruun).
Do (A-) they (U'laaika) not (-laa) believe (Yazunnu) that they (Annahum) will be resurrected (Mab'uuthuun)
for (Li) a terrible (Äziim) day (Yaw'min),
the day (Yaw'ma) mankind (En'Naasu) will stand (Yaquumu) before (Li) the LORD (Rabbi) of the worlds (El'Äälamiin)?
Nay (Kallaa)! Indeed (Inna), the register (record) (Kitaaba) of the immoral (El'Fujjaari) is in (Lafii) shrouding (Sijjiin).
And (Wa) what (Maa) will make you (s) know (Ad'raa-ka) what (Maa) is shrouding (Sijjiin)?
It is a numerical (Mar'quum) register (Kitaabun). 1
Woe (Wai'lun) to the deniers (Lil' Mukazzibiin), on that day (Yaw'maizin), (77:15)
who (Ellaziina) are denying (Yukazzibuuna Bi) the Day of Judgement (Yaw'mi-d'Diin).
But (Wa) none (Maa) denies it (Yukazzibu B-ihi) except (illa) every (Kullu) sinful (Athiim) trespasser (Mu'tadin).
When (Izaa) Our verses (Aayaatu-naa) are recited (Tut'laa) to him (Älai'hi), he says (Qaala), "Tales (Asaatiiru) of the past (El'Awwaliin)."
Nay (Kallaa)! In fact (Bal'), what (Maa) they have been (Kaanu') earning (Yak'sibuun) has predominated (Raana Älaa) their hearts (Quluubi-him).
Nay (Kallaa)! Indeed, they (Innahum) will be (La) partitioned (Mah'juubuun) from (Än) their LORD (Rabbi-him), on that day (Yaw'maizin). (57:13)
For (Thumma) indeed, they (Innahum) will (La) burn (Soalu') in Hell (El'Jahiim).
And (Thumma) they will be told (Yuqaalu), "This (Haaza) is what (Ellazii) you used to (Kuntum) deny (Tukazzibuun Bi-hi)."
Nay (Kallaa)! Indeed (Inna), the register (record) (Kitaaba) of the pious (El'Ab'raari) is in (Lafii) loftiness (Elliyyiin).
And (Wa) what (Maa) will make you (s) know (Ad'raa-ka) what (Maa) is loftiness (Elliyyuun)?
It is a numerical (Mar'quum) register (Kitaabun). 2
Those nearby (El'Muqarrabuun) will witness it (Yash'hadu-hu).
Indeed (Inna), the pious (El'Ab'raara) will be in (Lafii) bliss (Naeem), (82:13)
observing (Yanzuruun) on (Älaa) couches (El'Araa'iki).
You will recognize (Ta'rifu) the splendour (Nad'rata) of Bliss (En'Naeem) in (Fii) their faces (Wujuuhi-him').
They will be given to drink (Yas'qaw'na) from (Min) sealed (Makh'tuum) nectar (Rahiiqin),
whose conclusion (Khitaamu-hu) is of musk (Mis'kun); and (Wa) so let (Fal') the competitors (El'Mutanaafisuun) compete (Yatanaafasi) for (Fii) that (Zaalika).
And (Wa) its mixture (Mizaaju-hu) is of (Min) fragrance (perfume) (Tas'niim);
as a spring (Äi'nan) from which (Bihaa) those nearby (El'Muqarrabuun) will drink (Yash'rabu).
Indeed (Inna), those who (Ellaziina) acted wrong (Aj'ramu') used to (Kaanu’) laugh at (Yad'hakuun Min) those who (Ellaziina) believed (Aamanu').
And (Wa) whenever (Izaa) they (the wrongful) passed by them (Marru' Bihim'), they would wink at each other (Yatagaamazuun).
And (Wa) whenever (Izaa) they turned (Enqalabuu') to (ilaa) their people (Ah'li-himu), they would return (Enqalabu') teasing (Fakihiin).
And (Wa) whenever (Izaa) they saw them (the believers) (Ra'aw'hum'), they would say (Qaaluu'), "Indeed (Inna), these people (Haaulaai) are (La) lost (Doalluun),
for (Wa) there are no (Maa) guardians (13:11) (Haafiziin) sent (Ur'silu') over them (Älai'him')."
So (Fa) today (El'Yaw'ma), those who (Ellaziina) believed (Aamanu') are laughing at (Yad'hakuun Mina) the disbelievers (El'Kuffaari),
observing (Yanzuruun) on (Älaa) couches (El'Araa'iki).
Have (Hal') the disbelievers (El'Kuffaaru) been rewarded (Thuwwiba) for what (Maa) they have been (Kaanu') doing (Yaf'äluun)?(SRV - 83:9, 83:20)
