Surah “He Frowned”

as rendered by Torres Al Haneef (partial translation) — 42 verses

He frowned and turned awa
because the blind man came to him (interrupting)
And how would you know? -- maybe he would grow in purity
"or be reminded, and the reminder would help him!"
"But, as for the one who thinks he can take care of himself,"
to him you give your attention (O Prophet
although you will not be blamed if he does not purify himself
"And as for the one who comes to you eagerly,"
"and fears (Allah),"
"from him, you are distracted."
"No (it should not be so.) It [the Qur??n] is a Reminder,"
so let whoever wants to remember it (do so)
"it is on honoured pages,"
"kept high and pure,"
(written) by the hands of scribe
who are noble and pious
Cursed is man; how ungrateful he is
From what did He create him
"From a drop of sperm He created him, and moulded him in (good) proportions,"
"then makes the way easy for him,"
"then causes him to die and to be buried,"
"then, when He wills, He will raise him (to life again)."
"No, surely man has not fulfilled what Allahhas commanded him."
"So, let man consider his food:"
"We pour down the water in abundant rains,"
"then We split the earth in fissures,"
"and make the grains grow in them,"
"and grapes and fresh green plants,"
"and olives and palm trees,"
"and gardens thick with tall trees,"
"and fruits and pastures,"
for the comfort of you and your flocks
"But when the deafening Shout comes,"
"on a Day when a man shall run from his (own) brother,"
"his mother, his father,"
"and from his wife and his children,"
"every man, on that day, will have enough worries of his own to make him forget (everyone else)."
"Some faces on that Day will be shining,"
"laughing, happy (with their good news),"
"and other faces on that Day will be covered with dust,"
veiled in darkness
"Those are the unbelievers, the wicked."
