Surah “The Emissaries, Winds Sent Forth”

as rendered by Safi Kaskas — 50 verses

By those [winds] sent forth in gusts
and those violently storming,
consider these [messages] that spread [the Truth] far and wide,
thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity,
and then delivering a Reminder,
[promising] freedom from blame or [offering] a warning,
what you are promised will surely happen.
So when the stars are extinguished,
the heaven is split open,
the mountains are blown away,
And when the messengers are called together to an appointed time,
for what Day was it postponed?
For the Day of Decision.
And what do you know about the Day of Decision?
How horrible is that Day for those who deny the truth.
Did We not destroy the earlier people?
And We shall make the latter follow them.
This is how We deal with those who forced others to reject Our messages
How horrible is that Day for those who reject the truth.
Did We not create you from an insignificant liquid?
Then lodged it in a secure place,
for a known term?
And We determined it, how excellently We determine.
How terrible is that Day for the deniers of the truth.
Have We not made the Earth a home
for the living and the dead?
And We placed firmly embedded mountains in it, rising high, and given you sweet water to drink.
How terrible is that Day for the deniers of the truth.
"Proceed to what you used to deny.
“Proceed to a shadow with three columns,
that has no shade and will not prevent you from the flame."
It shoots sparks [as huge] as a fortress,
like giant fiery ropes.
How terrible is that Day for those who deny the truth.
On that Day they will be speechless,
and they not be given permission to offer any excuses.
How terrible is that Day for those who deny the truth.
This is the Day of Decision; We will have gathered you together with the earlier people.
So if you have a ploy, then use it against my plan now.
How terrible is that Day for those who deny the truth.
The God-conscious will be amidst shades and springs,
and any fruits they desire,
"Eat and drink and enjoy it as a reward for your deeds."
This is how We reward those who do good.
How terrible is that Day for those who deny the truth.
You are but dissenters. So, eat and enjoy yourselves a little [while you can].
How terrible is that Day for the deniers of the truth.
And when It is said to them, "Bow down [in prayer]," they do not bow.
How terrible is that Day for those who denied the truth.
In what message beyond this will they believe?
