Surah “The Rising of the Dead, Resurrection”

as rendered by Shuaib Abdullahi — 40 verses

I swear by (Laa' Uq'simu Bi) the Day (Yaw'mi) of Resurrection (El'Qiyaama’)*,
and (Wa) I swear by (Laa' Uq'simu Bi) the blaming (Ellawwaama’) soul (En'Naf'si).
Does (A-) the human being (El' Insaanu) think (-yah'sabu) that We cannot (Allan) assemble (Naj'maä) his bones (Ezoama-hu)?
Certainly (Balaa), We are able to (Qaadiriina Älaa An) fix (Nusawwiya) his fingertips (Banaana-hu).
Rather (Bal'), the human being (El' Insaanu) intends (Yuriidu) to (Li) act immoral (Yaf'jura) ahead of him (Amaama-hu).
He asks (Yas'alu), "When (Ayyaana) is the Day of Resurrection (Yaw'mul' Qiyaama’)?"
But (Fa) when (Izaa) the eyesight (El'Basor) is flashed (Bariqa),
and (Wa) the moon (El'Qamar) is eclipsed (Khasafa),
and (Wa) the sun (Es'Sham'su) and the moon (El'Qamar) are gathered (Jumiä),
on that day (Yaw'maizin), the human being (El' Insaanu) will say (Yaquulu), "Where (Ai'na) is the escape (El'Mafarr)?"
Nay (Kalla)! He will not (Laa) be assisted (Wazar).
On that day (Yaw'maizin), to (ilaa) your LORD (s) (Rabbi-ka) is the residence (El'Mus'taqarr).
On that day (Yaw'maizi), the human being (El' Insaanu) will be informed (Yunabbau') of what (Bimaa) he sent forth (Qaddama) and (Wa) held back (Akkhar).
In fact (Bali), the human being (El' Insaanu) will be well-informed about (Basiira’ Älaa) himself (Naf'si-hi),
even if (Walaw') he should present (Al'qaa) his excuses (Maääziira-hu).
“Do not (Laa) move (Tuharrik') your tongue (s) (Lisaana-ka) with it (Bihi) in order to (Li) hasten (Ta'jala) with it (Bihi).
"Indeed (Inna), upon Us (Älai'naa) is its collection (Jam'ä-hu) and (Wa) its reading (Qur'aana-hu).
"So (Fa) when (Izaa) We read it (Qura'naa-hu), then (Fa) follow (Ettabi') its reading (Qur'aana-hu).
"Then (Thumma) indeed (Inna), upon Us (Älai'naa) is its clarification (Bayaana-hu)." (6:105)
Nay (Kallaa)! In fact (Bal'), you love (Tuhibbuuna) the worldly existence (El'Ääjila’)
while (Wa) leaving (Tazaruuna) the hereafter (El'Aakhira’).
On that day (Yaw'maizin), some faces (Wujuuhu) will be bright (Naadira’),
looking (Naazira’) at (ilaa) their LORD (Rabbi-haa).
And (Wa) on that day (Yaw'maizin), other faces (Wujuuhu) will scowl (Baasira’),
thinking (Tazunnu) that (An) there is trouble (Faaqira’) to be done (Yuf'äla) to them (Bihaa).
Nay (Kallaa)! When (Izaa) the ascension (Ettaraaqiy) has reached (Balagati)
and (Wa) one who (Man') will be ascending (Raaq') is stated (Qiila).
And (Wa) he will presume (Zonna) that it (Annahu) is the separation (El'Firaaq)
and (Wa) will look around (El'taffati) side (Es'Saaqu) to (Bi) side (Es'Saaq).
On that day (Yaw'maizin), to (ilaa) your LORD (s) (Rabbi-ka) is the drift (El'Masaaq).
For (Fa) he (the disbeliever) neither (Laa) gave alms (believed) (Soddaqa) nor (Walaa) prayed (Sollaa), (35:29)
but (Walaakin) he denied (Kazzaba) and (Wa) turned away (Tawallaa).
Then (Thumma) he went to (Zahaba ilaa) his people (Ah'li-hi), swaggering (Yatamattoa).
It is more deserving (Aw'laa) for you (Laka) and (Fa) more deserving (Aw'laa)!
For (Thumma) it is more deserving (Aw'laa) for you (Laka) and (Fa) more deserving (Aw'laa).
Does (A-) the human being (El' Insaanu) think (-yah'sabu) that (An) he will be left (Yut'raka) in vain (Sudaa)?
Was he not (Alam' Yaku) a sperm (Nut'fatan) from (Min) aroused (Yum'naa) semen (Maniyyin)?
Then (Thumma) it became (Kaana) a thrombus (96:2) (Älaqatan), and (Fa) was shaped (Khalaqa) and (Fa) organized (Sawwaa),
and (Fa) two pairs (kinds) (Ez'Zaw'jai'ni) were made (Jaäla) from it (Min'hu); a male (Ez'Zakara) and (Wa) a female (El'Unthaa)? (49:13)
Is (A-) that (Zaalika) not (-lai'sa Bi) being able to (Qaadirin Älaa An) give life to (Yuh'iya) the lifeless (2:28) (El'Maw'taa)?
