When the event happens;
There is no lying to its happening.
Lowering, exalting.
When the earth will be shaken, shaking.
And the mountains will be crumbled, crumbling,
And become dispersed motes.
And you will be three kinds;
Then the fellows of the right, what are the fellows of the right?
And the fellows of the left, what are the fellows of the left?
And the foremost, the foremost.
Those are the ones who are brought near,
In the gardens of pleasure.
A crowd of the former people,
And a few of the later people.
On woven couches,
Reclining on them, face to face.
There will go round them perpetual children,
With cups and ewers and a cup of wine from a flowing spring;
They will not be affected with headache from it, and they will not be exhausted.
And fruit of what they choose;
And meat of birds of what they desire;
And wide-eyed houris,
Like the similitudes of the protected pearls;
A recompense for what they used to do.
They will not hear in it foolish talk nor sin,
Except a saying, 'Peace, peace.'
And the fellows of the right, what are the fellows of the right?
Among thornless lote trees,
And layered banana,
And extended shade,
And water poured out;
And much fruit,
Not failing and not forbidden;
And raised beds.
Indeed We, We have produced them, producing.
And We have made them virgins,
Darlings, equal in age
For the fellows of the right.
A crowd of the former people,
And a crowd of the later people.
And the fellows of the left, what are the fellows of the left?
In hot wind and hot water;
And a shade of black smoke,
Not cool nor generous.
Indeed they, they were affluent before that,
And they used to persist upon the great oath breaking.
And they used to say, 'When we die and we become dust and bones? Will we indeed, surely be raised?
And our forefathers, the former people?'
Say, 'Indeed, the former people and the later people
Will surely be gathered together to an appointed time of a known day.'
Then indeed you, the erring, the deniers,
Will surely eat of a tree of Zaqqum,
And fill the bellies from it,
And drink upon it of the hot water,
And drink, the drinking of thirsty camels.
This is their entertainment on the Day of Judgment.
We, We created you, so if only you would verify.
And have you seen what you emit?
Do you create it or are We the creators?
We have decreed death between you and We are not to be outrun;
On that We exchange your similitudes and produce you in what you do not know.
And surely, certainly you knew the first production, so if only you would remember.
And have you seen what you sow?
Do you make it grow or are We the ones who make it grow?
If We will, surely We would make it grit, then you would continue wondering,
'Indeed, we are surely in debt,
Nay, we are denied.'
And have you seen the water which you drink?
Did you send it down from the clouds or are We the senders?
If We will, We would make it bitter; so if only you would be grateful.
And have you seen the fire which you strike?
Did you produce its tree or are We the producers?
We have made it a reminder and provision for the wayfarers of the desert.
So glorify with the name of your Lord, the Great.
So I swear by the positions of the stars;
And indeed, it is surely a great oath if you know,
Indeed, it is surely a noble Quran,
In a protected book.
None touch it except the purified.
A revelation from the Lord of the worlds.
So is this the information you hold in light estimation?
And you make your provision that you deny.
Then why not when it reaches the throat,
And you at that time are looking,
And We are nearer to him than you, but you do not see,
Then why not, if you are not to be requited,
Return it, if you are truthful.
Then as for if he is of those who are brought near,
Then rest and fragrant plants and a garden of pleasure.
And as for if he is of the fellows of the right,
Then 'Peace for you,' from the fellows of the right.
And as for if he is of the deniers, the erring,
Then an entertainment of hot water,
And burning in hellfire.
Indeed, this, surely it is the truth of the certainty.
So glorify with the name of your Lord, the Great.
