Ha Mim
And the Book that makes things clear—
We have sent it down during a blessed night: Verily, We (always) wish to warn (against evil
In that (night) is set out (decreed) every item of wisdom
By Command from Us (Allah), verily, We (always) send (revelations)
As a Mercy from your Lord: Verily, He is the All Hearing (As-Sami'), the All Knowing (Al-Aleem)
The Lord of the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, if you have firm faith and certainty
There is no god but He: It is He Who gives life and causes death, your Lord and Sustainer (Rab) and the Lord and Sustainer of your (earliest) ancestors
Yet, they amuse themselves in doubt
Then you watch for the Day on which the sky will bring out a kind of clearly visible smoke (or mist)
Surrounding the people: This will be a painful penalty
(They will say:) "Our Lord! Remove the penalty from us, really, we are believers!"
How shall the Message be (meaningful) for them, seeing that a Messenger (the Prophet) has (already) come to them— (And is) explaining things clearly
Yet they turned away from him and said: "Taught (by others), he is a madman (possessed by evil)!"
Indeed, We shall remove the penalty for a while, (but) truly, you will go back (to your ways)
One day We shall get to you with a mighty disaster that will come: (And then) We will truly make (you) suffer the real punishment
And indeed, We did try the people of Firon (Pharaoh), before them (those who reject the Message); To them came a most honorable messenger (Musa)
(Saying:) "Give me the servants of Allah verily, I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust
"And do not be proud (especially) against Allah: Truly, I have come to you with clear authority
"As for me, I have prayed to my Lord and your Lord, for safety against your injuring (stoning) me
"But if you do not believe, keep yourselves away from me and leave me alone."
(But they were angry and haughty) then he cried to his Lord: "Truly, these are a criminal people used to sin."
(The reply came:) "March forth with My servants by night, surely, you will be followed
"And leave the sea at the gap (across the ocean bed divided): Verily, they are a group to be drowned."
How many of the gardens and springs did they leave behind
And green crops (and corn fields) and noble places
And wealth (and things of life), in which they had taken such delight
Like this (was their end)! And We made other people take over (those things they left behind)
And neither heaven nor earth shed a tear for them: And they were not given any relief (again)
And indeed, (before this), We did save the Children of Israel from disgraceful punishment
Caused by Firon (Pharaoh), indeed he was proud (haughty and arrogant, even) among unruly transgressors
And We chose them before above the nations, with knowledge
And granted them Signs in which there was an open trial
Verily, these (People of the Quraish), they openly say
"There is nothing beyond our first death, and we shall not be resurrected
Then bring (back) our forefathers, if you say the truth!"
Are they better than the people of Tubba' and those who were before them? We destroyed them because they were criminals (guilty of sin)
And We did not create the heavens and the earth, and all between them, just as (an idle) play
We did not create them except for true (and noble) ends: But most of them do not understand
Surely, the Day of Sorting Out is the time appointed for all of them—
The Day when the nearest of kin can be of no use to the related one, even the least, and no help can they receive
Except such as those who receive Allah’s Mercy: Verily, He is Exalted in Might (Al-Aziz), Most Merciful (Ar-Raheem)
Surely, the (evil) tree of Zaqqum
Will be the food of the sinful—
Like molten brass; It will boil in their bellies
Like the boiling of very hot water
(A voice will cry:) "You seize him and drag him into the middle of the blazing Fire
"Then pour over his head the penalty of boiling water
"You taste (this)! Truly were you (all that) mighty, full of honor
"Surely, this is what you used to doubt!"
Verily, as to the righteous, (they will be) in a position of security
Among Gardens and Springs
Dressed in fine silk and in rich lace, they will face each other
Like this, (it will be!) We shall enjoin them the companions with beautiful, big and lovely eyes
There they can call for every fruit in peace and security
There, they will not undergo death, except the first death; And He will preserve them from the penalty of the blazing Fire—
As a Gift from your Lord! That will be the supreme achievement
Surely, We have made this (Quran) easy, in your tongue, in order that they may remember
So you wait and watch, verily, they (too) are waiting
